The Role of Coaching In Organizations

Our team has always been interested in quantifying the dollar figure that coaching contributes to our clients.  Recently, I came across research conducted by MetrixGlobal that discusses the ROI coaching provided Booz Allen Hamilton.  It reports an astonishing $7.90 return for every $1 spent, which although sounds enormous, I see as highly probable.  Our previous estimations and research indicated at least a 5:1 ratio, which we always considered real, but conservative at best.  You can find more information on the MetrixGlobal site listed above.

A recent article also brings light to this subject, along with the popularity of coaching and  information on how coaching services are priced.  If you have any other articles of this nature, kindly send them on to me!

I just came across this article on my desk and thought it might be of interest to some readers. (Doing it Right. Doing it Wrong. Key Lessons from the Highest and Lowest Scoring Employers in our Annual Survey)

This article was in January's edition of the Report on Business Magazine and is an accurate picture of what I'm seeing with some of the organizations we are working with.  The successful organizations are the ones that put their employees first, with a passion to ensuring everyone from the top down ensures they 'walk the talk'.  A commitment to excellence through communication, culture, high performance, and emotionally intelligent behavior is a practice that we're seeing become a standard in organizations that outperform industry standards across the board.

Canadians working less?

A recent study by Statistics Canada indicates that despite living in an increasingly chaotic world, Canadians are working less hours than in previous years. Bill Stevens is quoted in the article, as well as on talk radio giving some insight and explanation why this trend is likely to be occurring.
