In order to maximize executive
and executive team impact on strategic results we need to develop a
baseline assessment of current performance in your Business,
Organization, and Leadership Group. An illustration can be seen
below.
Business:
Often, our first step is to audit, analyze, and develop sustainable strategic
and fiscal effectiveness. The audit consists of an analysis of your
current situation;
corporate governance;
external environment: opportunities and threats;
internal environment: strengths and weaknesses;
analysis of strategic factors;
strategic alternatives and recommended strategy;
implementation;
evaluation and control.
More specifically, this includes current performance, return on investment,
market share, and profitability. Strategic posture refers to the organizations
current mission, objectives, strategies and policies. Corporate Governance
involves the analysis of the board of directors, top management and other key
stakeholders. In the external environment, we conduct analysis of societal
environment, task and industry environment, summary of external factors.
This is followed by an analysis of the Internal environment - corporate
structure, culture, and resources in marketing, finance, research and
development, operations and logistics, human resources management, and
information systems. Next, is the analysis of strategic factors, including
situation analysis, review of mission and objectives. Lastly, we work with
strategic alternatives, recommended strategy, and implementation.
For strategic and fiscal effectiveness our review process includes core values
and beliefs, vision, core purpose, goals, longer term targets, key thrusts,
measures, brand promise, this year’s goals and key initiatives, prioritized
action planning, critical numbers, and accountability.
Organization:
In order to be most effective in any intervention there must be a clear
understanding of strengths and challenges in your organization. We accomplish
this by administering The Fulcrum Organization and Culture Assessment. The
assessment measures your organization in major areas that include:
Mapping the
Business Environment
Effective Leadership Team
Setting the Business Direction
Implementing the Business Direction
Management
Each of these seven categories is broken down into three sub areas that are
assessed in a multi-rater manner and give a quantified current state
percentile, individual scores on each of the organizational areas, and a
prioritized list of developmental areas that would provide the greatest return
to your organization. The assessment is administered in a multi-rater fashion,
takes about 1 hour per individual to complete, and inevitably provides new
insights and understanding of your organization to each and every respondent.
This information is used by us in various ways. It becomes part of the
coaching process, may point to executive team misalignment, and indicate a
requirement for strategic clarification, can name some high return and
relatively easily accomplished organization development projects and indicate
a requirement for training in managerial and leadership skills.
Individual:
In order for gains to be made in your business and in your organization,
individuals must perform optimally and experience satisfaction and
fulfillment. Here Individual levels of performance, leadership, communication,
Emotional Intelligence, and skill are assessed. The strengths and challenges
are moved into an issue summary, a profile, a learning and development
program, and a variety of learning and development methods are applied to
accomplish increased levels of personal, organizational and business
effectiveness.
Sample projects using this methodology include:

Cost Control
